Bruce Cameron wrote this bestselling novel and it is being brought to theaters by acclaimed director Lasse Hallström (The Cider House Rules and The 100 Foot Journey). The book and film tell the story of one special dog (who will be voiced by Josh Gad, best known as Olaf from Frozen) who has a shockingly soulful story to tell about his experiences with a variety of humans.

This unique family film puts a new and interesting twist on the classic talking animal formula by placing the viewer in the mindset of the dog, as opposed to the humans that they are speaking with. The stacked supporting cast includes Dennis Quaid, Pooch Hall, Britt Robertson, Juliet Rylance, Peggy Lipton, John Ortiz, Luke Kirby and K.J. Apa.

The film is produced by Gavin Polone (the man responsible for Zombieland and will be distributed by Universal Pictures. Audiences everywhere are looking forward to Hallström’s take on Cameron’s classic tale and if the trailer is any indication, Lasse has knocked this one clean out of the park.

Josh Gad is the perfect choice as the voice of the titular dog and thanks to his recent voice work in the Disney classic Frozen, audiences are already well familiar with his hilarious hi-jinx. We cannot wait to see more of Gad’s interactions with Dennis Quaid and the rest of the cast once the movie is released.

This story is about more than a mere talking dog, though, it is about finding the meaning of life and learning more about what your purpose is on this planet. The book became a best seller because of how easy it is for readers to relate to the subject matter and we humbly predict that the upcoming adaptation will also be a smash hit success at the box office.

Do you know any fans of the book who are also looking forward to seeing the movie this January? Be sure to pass along this intriguing trailer, so that their anticipation is able to build even more.
