The story you are about to see is really sad. I am going to tell you the story of a German Shepherd named Dilila. Dilila here is a dog who has been used for breeding for many years in Taiwan. After the cruel people used her for their personal business, they just dumped her on the streets, and left her to day from starvation. Luckily the Animal Rescue Team Taiwan, rescued the puppy. They took care of her, and now Dilila has been transported in the United States. She is now waiting for a forever home adoption. Hopefully she will be able to find a loving family that will take good care of her. After all this dog has been suffering enough the last couple of years.
Since adaption has not become yet a culture for humanity, want to share with all of you some sad adoption facts from ASPCA:
1- Approximately 7.6 million companion animals enter animal shelters nationwide every year. Of those, approximately 3.9 million are dogs and 3.4 million are cats.
2- Approximately 2.7 million shelter animals are adopted each year (1.4 million dogs and 1.3 million cats).
3-About 649,000 animals who enter shelters as strays are returned to their owners. Of those, 542,000 are dogs and only 100,000 are cats.
4-Of the dogs entering shelters, approximately 35% are adopted, 31% are euthanized and 26% of dogs who came in as strays are returned to their owner.
Since Dilila is in search of a home, we wish her to find a loving one, that will provide her everything a dog needs. A shelter, food, and lots of snuggles. I did not want to tell you anything about the video because it is a heartbreaking story. You have to watch it calmly and really get into it. Please do not forget to share the video. We have to help all animals in need, and increasing awareness of these phenomena is a really good start!
